"China is ready to unswervingly expand the scope of market openness, and push ahead the opening of its modern service sector, manufacturing and agriculture," Hu Chunhua, vice-premier of the State Council, said at the China-CEEC Cooperation Forum in Ningbo on Sunday.

"China delivered through China's engagement in the international economy, cheaper goods to the world which we all benefited from. Our living standard in Australia has been lifted dramatically through this process," he added.

"By strengthening its small-and medium-sized enterprises, China will further open its economy by enhancing the regime of intellectual property protection of foreign companies and by lowering tariff on strategic sectors such as the auto manufacturing industry," he said.

"China has become a major global player and InterSystems has always recognized China as one of the most important strategic markets all over the world," said Luciano Brustia, regional managing director of Asia-Pacific at InterSystems.

"China firmly opposes any interference by foreign governments, institutions and individuals in Hong Kong affairs," Hua stressed.
